I wanted to thank you [Megan] and the entire front of house and back of house team at Ten22 for the phenomenal food and service we received last night. Our 27 members and two guests had a wonderful time at our holiday dinner hosted in your private dining room.

I especially want to thank our servers, Sean and Natalie, who provided exceptional service and attention to detail. I also want to thank Executive Chef Jay Veregge for his willingness to respond to a last minute request and create a third vegan entrée for one of our guests. All three of our guests who got the vegan meal commented that it was one of the best they’d had in a Sacramento-area restaurant.

Many of our members are nutrition professionals who either have special dietary needs themselves or they work with patients and clients with special dietary needs/restrictions. Your team made quite an impression on our entire group. You may become a dining destination for diners with special dietary needs/restrictions!

Again, thanks for making our holiday dinner such a success!

The food, wine pairings and staff were impeccable.  Our members and friends had an evening of decadence.

There is a new contender in the robust burger division.  It’s served at Ten22, the new Old Sacramento eatery run by the folks who operate the nearby Firehouse restaurant.

There are several pleasant contradictions to Ten22, which opened in October of 2009.   Take the place itself.  Fronted by Old Sac’s trademark wild west, wood-planked sidewalks and built on the site of the gold rush-era Orleans Hotel, Ten22 itself is far from old-fashioned.  It has a bright, airy, contemporary feel, hickory woodwork, an open kitchen and 24 beers on tap.  And while it has a commendable burger, it is no burger joint. Rather, it offers a fresh take on a wide range of bistro favorites.

We started our lunch with a chicken wing small plate.  I know what you’re thinking.  But there’s nothing Buffalo about these wings.  Marinated in buttermilk and a touch of Tabasco, they are baked with a crispy corn flake crust and come with an orange chili dipping sauce.

My burger was a hefty Niman Ranch patty with bacon and caramelized onions fused onto the meat by a coating of melted pepper jack cheese.  A mouth symphony in a brioche bun.

My dining partners were pleased with their sandwiches as well – BBQ pulled pork for one and roasted chicken, pesto and melted Brie for the other.

Ten22’s menu also includes a wide variety of dinner entrees like steak, salmon, chicken and scallop dishes, a roasted veggie platter, braised baby back ribs and a variety of pizzas baked in their stone hearth oven.

The historic Orleans building was demolished in 1970.  The lot stood vacant nearly 40 years.  Now the site, once the gateway to the gold rush, is offering us a new doorway into the golden age of dining out. It is off to a promising start.

Ten22 is a great place to hold a fundraiser.  The staff was excellent and accommodated all of our needs and the food was perfect for the occasion.  We took over the whole restaurant and the space worked beautifully.

There are certain Once in a Lifetimes. When I turned 50, my wife and I were thrilled with having chosen Ten22 to celebrate. Inviting 100+ of our Nearest & Dearest, the patio area provided the perfect ambiance for our party. Best of all, Team Ten22 far exceeded our food and service expectations, ensuring that attention was paid to each detail. They even created a signature cocktail, Floater, just for the event!

We recently held a reception for 75 regional business and community leaders at Ten22 to welcome new companies to the Sacramento Region. We used the indoor banquet room for presentations and then adjourned to the beautiful patio for a wine and hors d’oeuvre reception—both locations served our purpose perfectly. From start to finish, the professional and personable staff provided excellent service, the food and wine were outstanding, and the location provided just the right ambience for a memorable event. The event was a great success and our guests were very complimentary of the food and venue.

Our company had a dinner event for over 200 managers, sales representatives and corporate staff from throughout the seven western states at Ten22 restaurant.  They closed the entire restaurant for our function and the party was a huge success.  The arrangements were somewhat complicated as we had a rain and no-rain scenario as well as multiple other considerations.  The overall arrangements, management team, staff, service and food were outstanding. We will certainly be back.

The 22 is one of my favorite restaurants.  Whether it is meeting a client or colleague for a quick lunch or after work libation, we are always treated like royalty.  The food and service are outstanding.  I had a birthday party for my wife and 50 friends and everyone is still talking about how great it was thanks to Ten22.
~ Bill Badham, Umpqua Bank

We had a group luncheon at Ten22 to celebrate Administrative Professionals’ Day.  Ten22 provided an excellent private room which made it extra special.  The food and service at Ten22 is always top notch.  We had a great time and will return soon.

The service at Ten22 is always exceptional and the food excellent.  I have organized receptions for over 250 people as well as intimate parties for 40; the space has a great feel and with its diverse layout, it can work for any size group.  The 24 beers on draft and the great California wine list are always a hit.

Chef Veregge,

Wow. You are an incredible food artist.

This past weekend my husband and I stayed in Sacramento, a first visit for both of us. During that time, we discovered Ten22, and we were so happy with the cuisine that we ate there four times over the next 3 days!  (Actually, you stopped by our table on Friday evening, an act that spoke a lot about the restaurant’s desire to engage with customers.) My only regret coming home to Los Angeles is that we couldn’t pack your restaurant and take it back with us. What a hit you would be in the San Fernando Valley!

We were really lucky to be served by two REALLY professional servers, Josh and John. They were very knowledgeable about the menu, the ingredients, and your style, and were therefore able to steer us in the right directions. Over the weekend we enjoyed, among other dishes, the pork porterhouse, the fried green tomato pizza, the paella, the burger, and a couple of other superb dishes.

I am writing you to let you know what satisfied customers we are and to ask you a favor: could you provide me with two of your incredible recipes: the wild mango cheesecake (TO DIE FOR) and the wonderfully light dressing you use on the caesar salad? I would be most appreciative, as we entertain with friends fairly frequently and they too would be WOW’d.

I feel like I’ve been let into a incredible secret: Ten22! My husband and I are fans forever, and any future trip to Sacramento will definitely include a trip to Ten22. Thanks for such amazing artistry and for your exquisite feel for good dining. I will definitely enthusiastically recommend Ten22 to anyone I know who is visiting Sacramento!
Best regards,
~Rebecca Beatty

I host a lot of events and I can honestly say that this was one of the best experiences we have had.  To serve that many people and for everyone to love the food is really impressive.  I got nothing but compliments on the food and I don’t know if that has ever happened after an event!  I personally am really looking forward to coming back to try something else off the menu.
